Salaries

In the Ukrainian job market monthly salary expectations are listed AFTER taxes.

In the EU and US, salaries are usually listed before taxes. This means that when a candidate asks for $5,000 per month, they expect to receive that amount after taxes.

In Ukraine, most engineers are registered and taxed as Personal Entrepreneurs (PEs), and they pay a 5% tax.

This means that if a candidate wants $5,000 a month, you would have to pay them $5,250, which includes $5,000 in salary and $250 in taxes.

The salaries of Ukrainian engineers are significantly lower than in the US and most of Europe.

You get a developer with lots of experience who speaks good English, is in a convenient time zone, and has vast knowledge of software development tools.
